We’re excited about having you perform on the No Cover Café Emerging Artist Stage. As an emerging artist, our goal is to make this an enjoyable experience for you.
Below are the details and requirements you must agree to, to perform:
Venue & Show Format
- The venue is the Hazardville United Methodist Church, 330 Hazard Ave, Enfield, CT 06082.
- Each show runs between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. with 3 acts and 1 long intermission.
- The Emerging Artist Stage is in “The Fellowship Hall” of the Hazardville United Methodist Church.
- The Emerging Artists perform during the long intermission in The Fellowship Hall, where light food and snacks will be available.
Artist Compensation
- Currently, there is no compensation for the Emerging Artist.
- We are working on building an audience and will be offering compensation in the future.
- You are free to sell any “merch” you might have.
- You are welcome and encouraged to watch the Main Stage Artists in the sanctuary.
Venue Requirements
- The No Cover Café will provide the sound system.
- Tables will be provided for artists to sell their merch.
Artist Requirements
- Artists must arrive on the day of their performance, on time, and be ready for a 6:00 p.m. sound check.
- Artists are required to bring all instruments and patch chords for their performance.
- The entrance is at the back of the building.
- The Fellowship Hall is located up a flight of stairs. There is an elevator if you have heavier equipment or are unable to use the stairs.
- As the Emerging Artist, you should plan for 30 minutes of material. You will most likely play for 20-25 minutes.
- You are encouraged to perform originals if you have any. Cover songs are allowed.
- The long intermission occurs between the first and second artists. We encourage everyone (audience and artists) to mingle, network, and build their fan bases.
- Between the second and the third artists, there will be a very quick changeover (approximately 5 minutes).
Required Promo Materials (For First-Time NCC Performers)
- The artist must provide a 50-75-word written description of the act. This will be used in the show program and on the NCC website. If you have an existing web presence, you can point us to that text.
- The artist should provide a web-resolution photograph for use on The No Cover Cafe website. As with the description, if you have a web presence, point us to the image you would prefer us to use.
- Though not recommended, should the artist not provide the description or a photograph, the artist stipulates that the No Cover Cafe can write a description and select a photograph.
Photography, Audio, Video, Livestream
- All shows may be photographed, audio recorded, video recorded, or live-streamed to promote The No Cover Cafe.
- Any future sales of recordings or photographs, beyond the promotion of The No Cover Cafe, will be negotiated with the artist in a separate agreement.
- All recordings and photographs will be made available to the artists upon request.
Performer Equipment Needs
Most of the performers are solo singer-guitarists with simple setups. For each performer, we plan a microphone and a direct box for the guitar. Please list any additional equipment you need below:
